Type 303 stainless steel is an austenitic grade specifically designed for superior machinability through an addition of sulfur, which acts as a chip breaker to reduce tool wear. This round bar meets ASTM A582 standards and delivers 90,000 PSI tensile strength with good corrosion resistance. It is non-magnetic in the annealed condition and cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
