3003 Aluminum Diamond Plate

3003 Aluminum Diamond Plate

3003 Aluminum Diamond Plate

3003 Aluminum Diamond Plate (also known as aluminum tread plate or floor plate) is widely used in decorative, cosmetic, and architectural applications. This is the most widely used of all aluminum alloys. It is essentially commercially pure aluminum with the addition of manganese, which increases the strength while maintaining low weight. It has excellent corrosion resistance and workability, and it may be deep drawn or spun, welded, or brazed. This alloy is non-heat treatable.

  • Alloy 3003-H14
  • ASTM B209 Standard
  • 5-Raised Diamond Pattern
  • Excellent Corrosion Resistance

Overview

3003 Aluminum Diamond Plate, also known as aluminum tread plate or floor plate, is the premier choice for industrial and architectural applications requiring a combination of lightweight strength, superior corrosion resistance, and a safe, slip-resistant surface. As the most widely used aluminum alloy, 3003 aluminum offers an exceptional balance of performance and workability. This product is manufactured from 3003-H14 aluminum, a non-heat-treatable alloy strengthened by the addition of manganese. This manganese addition significantly enhances the strength over pure aluminum while maintaining the alloy's inherently low weight, excellent formability, and outstanding resistance to rust and corrosion. The distinctive raised diamond pattern is embossed into the surface, providing critical traction in wet or oily environments, which helps prevent workplace accidents. This makes 3003 aluminum diamond plate an indispensable material for demanding B2B and industrial settings.

Its excellent workability means it can be easily cut, drilled, welded, and formed to meet specific project requirements without cracking or losing its structural integrity. Furthermore, it accepts a variety of surface finishes, from mill finish to anodized or painted coatings, allowing for both functional and aesthetic customization. Primarily used in applications like truck beds, industrial flooring, stair treads, and ramps, this versatile material delivers long-lasting durability with minimal maintenance. For engineers, fabricators, and procurement managers seeking a reliable, cost-effective, and durable solution, 3003 aluminum diamond plate represents an optimal investment in safety and performance.

How to Measure & Specify

Thickness Width Length

To order correctly, specify:

  • Thickness: Measured at the flat, un-embossed areas of the sheet (not including the raised diamond pattern).
  • Width & Length: Specify dimensions in inches. Standard tolerances are 1/8".
  • Ordering Example: To order a 4' x 8' sheet of 10-gauge plate, specify: '3003 Aluminum Diamond Plate, 0.125" x 48" x 96"'.
  • Finish: Standard mill finish. Specify if anodized or painted finish is required.

Thickness is measured at the flat portion, not the raised diamond peaks.
