Type 304 is the most widely used austenitic '18-8' chromium-nickel stainless steel, conforming to ASTM A276. This grade offers an excellent combination of strength (73,200 PSI tensile), corrosion resistance in a wide range of environments, and exceptional weldability. In its annealed condition, it is non-magnetic and highly ductile, allowing for forming and fabrication. Its clean mill finish is suitable for both functional and aesthetic applications.
As a medium-sized 3" x 3/8" bar, this product provides substantial strength for structural bracing, equipment frames, and supports. Its dimensions are well-suited for manufacturing base plates, gussets, machine ways, and wear strips where both durability and corrosion resistance are critical.
