Type 304 stainless steel, known as "18-8" for its 18% chromium and 8% nickel content, is the most widely used austenitic grade. This composition provides excellent resistance to a broad range of atmospheric and chemical corrosives. Supplied in an annealed condition, it is non-magnetic, highly ductile, and easily welded. It conforms to ASTM A276 standards for bars and shapes.
As a medium-sized 1/2" x 1-1/2" bar, this product provides substantial strength for structural bracing, machine ways, and wear strips.
