Weldability
- Welds readily by MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux-core processes
- Select filler based on section thickness, joint design, position, and service requirements
- Remove mill scale in the weld area for best results
- Recommended filler metals: 4043 or 5356 aluminum filler wire
- Pre-cleaning with a stainless steel brush is essential to remove oxides
How to Measure
Thickness: Measured at the flat, un-embossed areas of the sheet (not including the raised diamond pattern). Use calipers for accurate measurement.
Width & Length: Specify dimensions in inches. Standard tolerances are 1/8".
Ordering Example: To order a 4' x 8' sheet of 10-gauge plate, specify: '3003 Aluminum Diamond Plate, 0.125" x 48" x 96"'.
