3003 Aluminum Sheets
3003 Aluminum Diamond Plate
3003 Aluminum Diamond Plate (also known as tread plate or floor plate) is a lightweight, corrosion-resistant aluminum sheet with a raised diamond pattern for slip resistance. Made from 3003-H14 aluminum alloy with added manganese for strength, it offers excellent workability, weldability, and formability while maintaining a low weight profile. This non-heat-treatable alloy is ideal for industrial, architectural, and safety applications.

Overview
3003 Aluminum Diamond Plate is the premier choice for industrial and architectural applications requiring lightweight strength, superior corrosion resistance, and a safe, slip-resistant surface. As the most widely used aluminum alloy, 3003 offers an exceptional balance of performance and workability. The manganese addition enhances strength over pure aluminum while maintaining low weight, excellent formability, and outstanding resistance to rust and corrosion. The distinctive raised diamond pattern provides critical traction in wet or oily environments, helping prevent workplace accidents. This makes 3003 aluminum diamond plate indispensable for demanding B2B and industrial settings. Its excellent workability means it can be easily cut, drilled, welded, and formed to meet specific project requirements without cracking or losing structural integrity. Furthermore, it accepts various surface finishes, from mill finish to anodized or painted coatings, allowing for both functional and aesthetic customization.

Applications
- Industrial Flooring: Mezzanines, platforms, and walkways where slip resistance is critical
- Transportation: Truck and trailer beds, running boards, dock plates
- Architectural: Decorative wall panels, elevator interiors, kick plates
- Safety Applications: Stair treads, ramps, and catwalks in manufacturing plants, warehouses, and commercial buildings
- Utility: Toolboxes, equipment covers, and machinery siding
Weldability
- Welds readily by MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux-core processes
- Select filler based on section thickness, joint design, position, and service requirements
- Remove mill scale in the weld area for best results
- Recommended filler metals: 4043 or 5356 aluminum filler wire
- Pre-cleaning with a stainless steel brush is essential to remove oxides
How to Measure
Thickness: Measured at the flat, un-embossed areas of the sheet (not including the raised diamond pattern). Use calipers for accurate measurement.
Width & Length: Specify dimensions in inches. Standard tolerances are 1/8".
Ordering Example: To order a 4' x 8' sheet of 10-gauge plate, specify: '3003 Aluminum Diamond Plate, 0.125" x 48" x 96"'.
Tolerances: Confirm critical tolerances for your project with our sales team. Custom tolerances may be available.
