A36 Steel Diamond Plate - 1/8" x 48" x 120"
This 1/8" x 48" x 120" hot rolled diamond plate features a raised pattern for maximum skid resistance. Produced from A36 structural steel to ASTM A786 standards, it combines excellent weldability and durability for demanding industrial and automotive applications. In stock Los Angeles.
- A36 Steel Construction
- ASTM A786 / A36 Certified
- 58,000-80,000 PSI Tensile Strength
- Excellent Weldability & Slip Resistance
Hot rolled diamond plate, also known as tread or checker plate, is manufactured from A36 carbon steel. The hot rolling process creates a durable but less refined surface ideal for functional use. It conforms to ASTM A786 for the raised pattern and ASTM A36 for its base material properties, ensuring good strength, formability, and excellent weldability for easy fabrication.
As a medium-thickness plate, this 1/8" sheet offers a balance of strength and weight, making it ideal for structural flooring, walkways, trailer beds, stair treads, and protective panels where durability and safety are critical.

Finish Options
This product comes standard with a hot rolled mill finish, which is a blue-grey, slightly rough surface scale. For painting or powder coating, the mill scale should be removed via grinding or sandblasting. Left untreated, it will develop a surface rust patina.
