- 1018 Carbon Steel Construction
- ASTM A108 Certified
- 63,800 PSI Tensile Strength
- Excellent Machinability
1018 Cold Rolled Hexagon Bar is produced by drawing hot rolled bar through a die at room temperature. This process increases strength, improves the surface finish, and holds tighter dimensional tolerances. Conforming to ASTM A108, its low carbon content provides a balance of toughness and ductility, with excellent weldability and machinability rated at 70% of 1212 steel.
As a medium-sized 5/8" bar, this hex stock is perfectly suited for manufacturing standard and custom hex nuts, bolts, hydraulic fittings, and valve components. Its shape provides a positive grip for tooling, making it a reliable choice for machinery shafts and standoffs.
