6061-T6 aluminum is a precipitation-hardened alloy containing magnesium and silicon, solution heat-treated and artificially aged for superior strength. This process results in a material with a high strength-to-weight ratio, excellent weldability, and very good corrosion resistance. It conforms to ASTM B211 standards and is one of the most versatile aluminum alloys available for general-purpose fabrication and machining.
The 1" medium diameter is perfectly suited for general-purpose shafts, axles, spacers, and structural supports. It provides the necessary strength and rigidity for machine components, automotive parts, and architectural frames without the excess weight or cost of larger-diameter stock.
