6061-T6 aluminum is a heat-treated, precipitation-hardened alloy with magnesium and silicon as its primary alloying elements. This process provides a significant increase in strength over other aluminum grades. Conforming to ASTM B211, it combines 45,000 PSI tensile strength with excellent formability, weldability, and superior corrosion resistance, making it one of the most widely used aluminum alloys.
